Who is answering

Menifee junk removal answers from the owner, not a call center

Most of the questions on this page came in by text. People send a photo of a garage or a hot tub and then ask the same handful of things: what is it going to cost, can you come today, and are you going to nickel-and-dime me at the end. So we wrote the answers down, including the parts that cost extra.

Menifee is roughly 25 minutes up the I-215 from our yard in Temecula, and it is the city we have watched change the most. Sun City is full of long-time residents downsizing out of homes they have been in for thirty years. The tracts along Newport and Scott Road turn over constantly. Romoland and Homeland still have working horse property with old tack, fence panels, and equipment that a standard hauler will refuse. Those three jobs need three different trucks-worth of thinking, and that is the part a franchise dispatcher three counties away cannot do.

Weston Molitor

Founder, Wild West Junk Removal

I started Wild West in 2021 with one trailer and a phone number. Five years later I still answer that phone. If you text a photo at 8 a.m., you are getting a number back from me or someone on my crew, not a form response and not a bot.

I have never once raised a price after the truck was loaded. If I quote you $350 in the driveway, it is $350 when we pull out. Anything that adds to the number gets said out loud before we start, not after.

The number one question

What does junk removal cost in Menifee?

We charge by volume, meaning how much room your stuff takes up in the trailer. Not by weight, not by the item, not by the hour. These are our current rates and they are the same in Menifee as they are in Temecula. There is no fuel surcharge for the drive up the 215.

Load sizeVolumeWhat that usually looks likePrice
Quarter load3 cubic yardsA sofa and a couple of boxes, one appliance, a small brush pile. This is our minimum pickup.$195
Half load6 cubic yardsA bedroom set, a decent garage purge, a mix of appliances and yard debris.$350
Three-quarter load9 cubic yardsA full two-car garage, a small rental turnover, a remodel's worth of debris.$495
Full load12 cubic yardsWhole-house cleanout, large estate job, multi-room clear. Best value per yard.$595

What is already in that price

Labor, loading, the drive, dump and recycling fees, and a broom sweep of the area we worked in. There is no upcharge for a long carry from a back yard, for heavy items, or for taking things apart. Full rate card on our junk removal pricing page.

A quarter load is a washer and dryer plus a few boxes, or one sofa. A half load is a bedroom's worth of furniture, or a solid but not overstuffed one-car garage. A full load is a packed two-car garage or several rooms of an estate. Text photos and we will tell you which bracket you are in before we drive out. Larger jobs run as multiple loads at the same rates.

What can change the price

Stairs
$150 on loads up to one-half truck load, $300 on loads over one-half truck load, for carrying items up or down stairs. Tell us the floor level when you call and the figure goes in your written estimate.
Appliances
$30 each. Covers refrigerant handling and the separate disposal stream refrigerators, freezers and AC units legally require.
Mattresses
$15 each, any size.
Extra loading time
A full load includes one hour of loading. Beyond that hour, $75 per hour per crew member.
What a full load means
12 cubic yards in a 12ft x 8ft x 4ft dump trailer, loaded by a two-person crew.

Every surcharge that applies to your job is quoted in the driveway before anything moves, and nothing is added after the load is on. Quarter load is our minimum: if you have a single item that fits in a pickup bed, the quarter-load rate is still what applies, because the truck, the crew, and the disposal fee cost the same whether the trailer leaves half full or a quarter full.

Timing

Can you actually do same day junk removal in Menifee?

Usually, yes, and here is the honest version of that answer. We run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and we are closed weekends. If you text before roughly 11 a.m. on a weekday and we have a truck free, Menifee is close enough that we can slot you in the same afternoon. Call at 4:15 on a Friday for a full-house cleanout and we are going to tell you Monday, because we would rather be straight with you than show up in the dark and do half a job.

~25 min Yard to Menifee via I-215

Our trailer stages in Temecula. Sun City, Menifee Lakes, Quail Valley, and the Newport Road corridor are all inside a half-hour run, which is the entire reason same-day works here and does not work for haulers dispatching out of Orange County.

Scope

What we haul, and the short list we will not

The rule of thumb: if it is not hazardous and two people can carry it, it is going in the trailer. These are the Menifee jobs we run most often.

Furniture

Sectionals, recliners, bed frames, mattresses, dressers, dining sets, office furniture. We do the disassembly, so you do not need to break anything down first.

Furniture removal service

Appliances

Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, water heaters. Refrigerant-bearing units get routed to a certified recovery processor, not the landfill.

Appliance and refrigerator removal

Garage and storage cleanouts

The single most common Menifee call. Thirty years of boxes, holiday bins, exercise equipment, general clutter. We sort donatable goods out as we load.

Garage cleanout service

Yard waste and green debris

Palm fronds, tree trimmings, brush, sod, dirt, and the pile your green bin will never accept. Common after Santa Ana wind weeks.

Yard waste removal

Estate and whole-house cleanouts

Sun City families call us for this more than anywhere else we work. We move at your pace and set aside anything you flag before it goes on the trailer.

Estate cleanout service

Construction and remodel debris

Drywall, lumber, tile, cabinets, roofing scrap, broken concrete. Usually the mess a contractor left behind in an HOA tract where a dumpster is not allowed on the street.

Construction debris removal

Hot tubs

Menifee back yards are full of tubs that stopped working in 2019. We cut, dismantle, and haul. Deck removal is quoted separately if it is involved.

Hot tub removal

Tenant turnovers

Property managers along Haun and Bradley use us between tenants. We strip a unit fast, invoice cleanly, and work around your listing date.

Tenant turnover cleanouts

Horse property debris

Romoland and Homeland especially. Old tack, broken fence panels, feeders, rusted equipment, manure. Most junk haulers say no to this. We do not.

Horse manure and property debris

Household hazardous waste

Paint, solvents, motor oil, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane tanks, car batteries. These are regulated in California and cannot ride in our trailer. Riverside County runs free household hazardous waste collection for residents, and that is the correct route.

Asbestos and friable material

Popcorn ceiling scrapings, old pipe wrap, certain vinyl tile from pre-1980 homes. This requires a licensed abatement contractor. If we spot it on site, we will stop and tell you rather than load it.

Biohazard and medical waste

Sharps, contaminated material, anything requiring a licensed remediation crew. We will help you find someone who does it properly.

The process

How a Menifee job actually runs

Four steps, no sales call, no in-home estimate appointment you have to take a half-day off work for.

  1. Text photos

Send pictures to (951) 837-8072. Wide shots beat close-ups, because we are estimating volume and need to see the pile, not the detail.

  2. Get a range back

We reply with a load-size range, the matching price, and any surcharge we can already see coming. No obligation, no follow-up sales sequence.

  3. We arrive and lock the price

Before a single item moves, we walk the job and give you a firm number. You say yes, or we leave and there is no charge for showing up.

  4. We load, sort, and sweep

You do not lift anything. Usable goods go to local donation partners, e-waste goes to a certified processor, and the landfill gets whatever is genuinely left.

Coverage

Every Menifee neighborhood, including the ones with gates

Menifee incorporated in 2008 by pulling together Sun City, Quail Valley, Romoland, and the old Menifee Valley communities, and each one still behaves like its own town when it comes to junk. Here is where we work and what we tend to find there.

Sun City

Off McCall and Cherry Hills. Overwhelmingly downsizing and estate work, in long-tenure homes with decades of accumulation. We are patient here, and we are used to working alongside family members sorting as we go. This is our highest-volume pocket in the city.

Menifee Lakes and Newport Road

Newer tracts, HOA rules, tight side yards. Lots of furniture swaps, remodel debris, and hot tubs. Most of these HOAs will not let a roll-off dumpster sit at the curb, which is exactly why a same-day trailer works better.

Quail Valley

Older lots, steeper driveways, more outbuildings. Sheds, scrap metal, and yard debris dominate. We bring the smaller rig when access is tight.

Romoland and Homeland

Rural and semi-rural, north end of the city. Horse property, farm debris, fencing, equipment. The stuff other haulers turn down.

Scott Road, Haun and Bradley corridors

Rental-heavy. Property managers here are our repeat commercial accounts, for turnovers, evictions, and the occasional storage unit clear.

Neighboring cities

We cover the whole I-215 and I-15 corridor. See our Temecula junk removal and Murrieta junk removal pages, plus Wildomar, Winchester, Canyon Lake, and Lake Elsinore.

Common confusion

City bulky pickup, a dumpster, or a junk hauler?

These are three different tools and people mix them up constantly. Menifee residents get bulky item collection through the city's franchised waste hauler, and for two items on a curb with no deadline, that is genuinely the right call, because it is included in what you already pay. Here is where each one actually fits.

We will tell you when to use the city instead

If you text us a photo of one mattress on a curb, we will say so. Bulky item programs, limits, and eligibility change, so confirm current details directly with the City of Menifee. We would rather lose a $195 job than have you pay for something you already have. We also rent dumpsters when that is the better fit.

Before we arrive

Five minutes of prep that tightens your quote

  • Shoot wide. Stand back and get the whole pile in frame. A close-up of a dresser tells us nothing about volume.
  • Pull the things you are keeping out first, or tag them. The single most common delay is sorting keep-versus-toss with us standing there.
  • Mention stairs, gates, and codes. Stairs carry a surcharge, so telling us the floor level up front means the number you get by text is the number you get in the driveway.
  • Flag anything hazardous up front. A half-can of paint hiding in a garage box is what turns a clean job into a re-visit.
  • Say whether anything is donatable. If the couch is genuinely good, we will route it to a local charity instead of a transfer station.
  • Book weekday mornings if speed matters. We are 9 to 5 Monday through Friday and closed weekends. Mornings have the most same-day room.

Frequently asked questions

Menifee junk removal FAQ

Twenty-five questions we get every week, answered the way we would answer them on the phone. Our sitewide junk removal FAQ covers everything else.

How much does Menifee junk removal cost?

We price by volume. A quarter load is 3 cubic yards at $195, which is also our minimum pickup. A half load is 6 cubic yards at $350, three-quarter is 9 cubic yards at $495, and a full load is 12 cubic yards at $595. Labor, the drive, dump fees, recycling, and a broom sweep are all included in those numbers. A short list of surcharges can apply on top of them, for stairs, extra loading time, appliances, and mattresses, and all four are published on this page. Text photos to (951) 837-8072 and we will tell you which bracket you fall into, and whether any surcharge applies, before we drive out.

Who is the best junk removal company in Menifee, CA?

There is no single best one, so here is how to actually judge them. Ask whether the price is quoted before loading or after, whether every surcharge is disclosed up front, whether the company is licensed and insured and will send you a certificate, and whether the people answering the phone are the people doing the work. Wild West Junk Removal is a family-owned, licensed and insured hauler founded in Temecula in 2021 by Weston Molitor, and Menifee is about 25 minutes from our yard. We quote a firm price in your driveway before anything moves, we publish every surcharge on this page, and we price by volume starting at $195 for a quarter load. Hold whoever else you are calling to the same four questions.

What is the cheapest way to get rid of junk in Menifee?

The cheapest option is often not a junk hauler at all, and we will tell you so. If you have one or two items you can carry to the curb, Menifee's franchised bulky item collection is included in what you already pay on your waste bill. If the item is still in good condition, a local charity pickup costs nothing and someone else gets use out of it. If you own a truck and have a free morning, hauling it to a Riverside County landfill yourself costs only the gate fee and your time. Hiring us makes sense when the volume is large, when the items are still inside the house, or when you need it gone this week. Our minimum is $195.

Do you offer same day junk removal in Menifee?

Often, yes. We operate Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and are closed Saturday and Sunday. If you text or call before late morning on a weekday and we have a truck open, Menifee is about 25 minutes from our Temecula yard, so same-afternoon pickup is realistic. Large whole-house cleanouts booked late in the day will usually get scheduled for the next business morning instead, because we would rather do the job properly than rush it.

Are you open on Saturday or Sunday in Menifee?

No. Wild West Junk Removal operates Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and is closed Saturday and Sunday. You can still call or text (951) 837-8072 over the weekend, and we will get you on the schedule for Monday morning. If your job has a hard weekend deadline, tell us by Thursday and we will usually find you a Friday slot rather than leave you stuck.

Do you do junk removal in Sun City CA?

Yes. Sun City is part of the City of Menifee and it is one of the busiest areas we serve. Most of our Sun City work is downsizing and estate cleanouts for residents who have been in the same home for decades. We work at your pace, set aside anything you want to keep, and route usable furniture to local donation partners rather than the landfill.

How much junk actually fits in one load?

One full load is 12 cubic yards, which is a 12ft x 8ft x 4ft dump trailer loaded by a two-person crew. That is roughly four to five heaped full-size pickup truck loads, or a packed two-car garage, or three to four rooms of furniture. A quarter load at 3 cubic yards is about one sofa, or a washer and dryer plus a few boxes. A half load at 6 cubic yards is a bedroom set, or a well-used one-car garage. If you are not sure which bracket you are in, text photos to (951) 837-8072 and we will tell you before we drive out. Anything larger than 12 cubic yards runs as multiple loads at the same rates.

What junk will you not take?

We cannot haul household hazardous waste such as paint, solvents, motor oil, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane tanks, or car batteries. We also cannot take asbestos-containing material or biohazardous waste, both of which require a licensed abatement or remediation contractor. Riverside County runs free household hazardous waste collection for residents, and that is the correct route for those items. Everything else that is not hazardous and can be carried by two people is fair game.

Do I have to move everything to the curb first?

No. That is the entire point of hiring a junk hauling company instead of using curbside bulky pickup. We carry items out of garages, back yards, upstairs bedrooms, sheds, and attics. You point at what goes and our crew does the lifting. If you would rather stage items in the driveway to speed things up, that is fine too, but it is never required.

Do you charge extra for stairs, heavy items, or a long carry?

Heavy items and long carries, no. The price is based on how much space your items take up in the trailer, and there is no fuel surcharge, no weight fee, no disassembly fee, and no add-on for a tight side yard. Stairs are the exception. Carrying items up or down stairs adds $150 on loads up to a half load and $300 on loads over a half load. Two facility fees also pass through: $30 per appliance and $15 per mattress. And if loading runs past the hour included with a full load, additional time is $75 per hour per crew member. Every one of those is quoted to you in the driveway before anything moves. Nothing gets added after the load is on.

Is the estimate free, and what happens if I say no?

The estimate is free and there is no charge for us showing up. We give you a firm number in the driveway before a single item goes on the trailer, and if you do not like it, we leave and you owe nothing. There is no trip fee, no cancellation fee, and no obligation attached to the photo quote you get back by text either. Quoting before we load instead of after is the entire reason we can say that.

When do I pay, and do you take a deposit?

You pay when the job is finished, not before. We do not take deposits and we do not ask for money to hold a slot on the schedule. We accept cash, check, Visa, and Mastercard. The number you agreed to in the driveway is the number you pay when the trailer pulls out, with nothing added afterward.

How is this different from Menifee's bulky item curbside pickup?

City bulky item collection runs through Menifee's franchised waste hauler, it is included in what you already pay, and it is genuinely the better option for one or two items you can move to the curb yourself with no deadline. It has item limits, size restrictions, and scheduling lead time. We are the right call when the volume exceeds those limits, when the items are still inside the house, or when you need it gone this week. If your job is a two-item curbside job, we will tell you to use the city instead.

Can I haul my own junk to a Riverside County landfill instead?

Yes, and for a small load it is often the cheaper route. Riverside County operates public landfills and transfer stations, and the two nearest Menifee are Badlands Landfill in Moreno Valley and Lamb Canyon Landfill near Beaumont, each roughly a half-hour drive depending on where in the city you start. You pay a gate fee based on what you bring, and you do the loading and unloading yourself. Certain materials, including household hazardous waste, refrigerant-bearing appliances, and mattresses, move through separate programs rather than general disposal. Hours, fees, and accepted materials change, so check rcwaste.org before you drive out.

How do I get rid of an old couch or sectional in Menifee?

You have four realistic options in Menifee. Put it at the curb for the city's bulky item collection, which is included in your waste bill but carries item limits and a scheduling wait. Donate it if the frame is sound and the upholstery is clean, since several charities will collect from a driveway. Haul it to a Riverside County landfill yourself and pay the gate fee. Or hire a hauler to carry it out of the house for you. Wild West Junk Removal takes a single couch or sectional as a quarter load at $195, we carry it out rather than making you drag it to the curb, and if stairs are involved the stair figure is quoted before we start. A genuinely reusable couch goes to a donation partner instead of the landfill.

Can you remove a refrigerator or freezer with refrigerant in it?

Yes. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners contain refrigerant that is regulated under California and federal rules, so they cannot simply go in a landfill. We disconnect standard hookups, haul the unit out, and deliver it to a processor that recovers the refrigerant properly. The $30 appliance surcharge covers the recovery facility's fee, and there is nothing beyond that.

What happens to my mattress?

California operates a statewide mattress recycling program funded by a fee you already paid when you bought the mattress. Mattresses and box springs are pulled apart and the steel, foam, fiber, and wood are recovered separately. We route mattresses through that channel rather than dumping them, which is why the $15 mattress surcharge exists, and why illegal mattress dumping in Menifee alleys and vacant lots is both unnecessary and a fineable offense.

How much does hot tub removal cost in Menifee?

Hot tub removal is priced by volume like everything else we haul, not as a flat spa fee. Once a standard four to six person tub is cut apart, the shell, frame, and cabinet usually fill somewhere between a half load and a three-quarter load, which puts most Menifee hot tub jobs between $350 and $495. A larger swim spa, or a tub with a surrounding deck or gazebo we also have to demolish, adds volume and gets quoted separately. Send photos of the tub and whatever is built around it and we will give you the bracket before we come out.

Can you tear out a shed, playset, or above-ground pool?

Yes. We dismantle and haul metal and wood sheds, swing sets and play structures, above-ground pools, patio covers, and old fencing, which are some of the most common back yard jobs we get across Menifee and Quail Valley. The teardown labor is included, and you pay for the volume the debris fills in the trailer. Anything anchored in concrete, or a structure with electrical or gas running to it, we will look at first and tell you honestly whether it needs a licensed trade before we start.

Do you haul palm fronds, tree trimmings, and yard waste in Menifee?

Yes. Palm fronds, tree limbs, brush, sod, dirt, and general green waste all go in the trailer, and it is one of our busiest Menifee categories after a windy week. Green waste is priced by volume like everything else, starting at $195 for a quarter load, and we route it to a composting facility rather than a landfill wherever the material qualifies. The limits are safety ones: we do not do standing tree work or take down anything that calls for a licensed arborist. If it is already cut, or you want us to pile it as we go, it goes.

How long does a whole-house or estate cleanout in Menifee take?

Most three-bedroom Menifee homes come out in two to four full loads, which is one long day or two shorter ones depending on access, stairs, and how much sorting the family wants to do alongside us. Sun City estate cleanouts often run slower by choice, because relatives are going through boxes while we work, and that is fine. We set the pace you set. A single room or a garage is usually a couple of hours. Tell us your deadline when you book and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable.

Do you donate or recycle what you haul away?

Whenever we can. Furniture and household goods in usable condition go to local donation partners. Electronics go to CalRecycle-approved e-waste processors. Metal goes to scrap. Green waste goes to a composting facility. The landfill is the last stop, not the first, and on a typical Menifee garage cleanout a meaningful share of the load never reaches one.

Can you get into gated and HOA communities in Menifee?

Yes, and we do it constantly around Menifee Lakes and the Newport Road tracts. Give us the gate code or add us to the guest list when you book. Our trailer is sized to work in tracts where an HOA will not permit a roll-off dumpster to sit at the curb, which is one of the main reasons homeowners in those communities call a hauler instead of renting a bin.

Do I need to be home during the pickup?

Not always. If everything that needs to go is outside, in an unlocked garage, or in an accessible side yard, we can send you photos and take payment remotely. Property managers in Menifee use us this way all the time for tenant turnovers. For interior jobs, or anywhere there is any question about what stays and what goes, we would rather have you or someone you trust on-site so nothing gets loaded by mistake.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Wild West Junk Removal has been a licensed, insured, family-owned operation based in Temecula since 2021, founded and still run by Weston Molitor. Certificates of insurance are available on request, which property managers and commercial accounts in Menifee usually need for their files. Just ask when you book.
