Every price covers loading labor, the drive, dump and recycling fees, and a broom sweep of the area we worked in. There's no deposit, no fuel surcharge, no disassembly fee, and no add-on for a long carry out of the back yard.
What Can Change the Price?
- Stairs
- $150 on loads under 7 cubic yards, $300 on loads of 7 cubic yards or more, for carrying items up or down stairs. Tell us the floor level when you call and the figure goes in your written estimate. No stair charge if there's an elevator.
- Appliances
- $30 each. Covers refrigerant handling and the separate disposal stream refrigerators, freezers and AC units legally require.
- Mattresses
- $15 per mattress, any size. Box springs carry no fee but count toward the load volume.
- Extra loading time
- A full load includes one hour of loading. Beyond that hour, $75 per hour per crew member.
- What a full load means
- 12 cubic yards in a 12ft x 8ft x 4ft dump trailer, loaded by a two-person crew.
Quarter load is our minimum. A single item that fits in a pickup bed still prices at the quarter-load rate, because the truck, the crew, and the disposal fee cost the same whether the trailer leaves a quarter full or half full.
A garage that looks like a half load in your head can be a full one once the shelving comes down, and a "whole room" of furniture is sometimes a quarter. That's why the photo matters more than the description.
What If the Pile Is Smaller Than the Photo?
Then you pay the smaller number. The crew confirms the load size on site before anything goes on the trailer, and if your pile measures out a bracket lower than the texted quote, the price drops to that bracket. Nobody has to argue for it.
It works the other way too, and we'll be upfront about it. If the pile grew since the photo (a neighbor's treadmill shows up more often than you'd think), we re-quote right there, before we load. You hear the new number first. Nothing gets added after the trailer is full and we're backing out.
The national franchises and booking apps you'll find online each do this their own way. Some only price once the truck arrives, some lock an online per-item price and send a contractor from their network. Ours is simple: photo quote, driveway confirmation, and the number only moves if the pile does.
What Does a Load Fraction Look Like?
A quarter load is a washer and dryer plus a few boxes, or one sofa. A half load is a bedroom's worth of furniture, or a solid but not overstuffed one-car garage. A full load is a packed two-car garage or several rooms of an estate. Text photos and we'll tell you which bracket you're in before we drive out.

Roughly a small pickup bed, or a couch plus a few boxes. Labor, loading, sweeping, and disposal fees are all included in that number, and any surcharge that applies is quoted to you before we touch a thing.
Is One Item Worth $195, or Should You Use the Free City Pickup?
Sometimes the free option is the right one, and we'd rather tell you that than take $195 for one dresser you could have set at the curb. City of Temecula addresses get two free bulky-item pickups a year through CR&R, the city's trash hauler. You call CR&R at (800) 755-8112 during business hours and book it ahead of time; the City of Temecula residential trash FAQ spells out the program. A few online booking apps also advertise single-item curbside pickups for less than our minimum. If it's one piece, it's already at the curb, and you can wait a week, go that route.
Where the $195 earns its keep: the item is upstairs or out in the back yard, there are four or five pieces instead of one, you've already used your two city pickups this year, it has to be gone today, or it's something a curb program won't touch, like a pile of remodel scrap. Once you're past a couple of pieces, the quarter load usually beats paying per item anyway, because everything that fits in the quarter rides for the same number.

Usually not, and we'd rather say so than promise it the way some haulers do. When a junk removal company drops your furniture at a charity, the charity records the company as the donor, not you.
